The BahnRadweg Hessen

245 km resp. 152 miles of pleasure cycling through Vogelsberg and Rhön

On former railway lines and along dreamy rivers, the route leads from Hanau to Bad Hersfeld through the enchanting low mountain range of Vogelsberg and Rhön. The natural landscape of the nature parks “Hoher Vogelsberg” and “Hessische Rhön” is guaranteed to be relaxed, because the route runs along disused railway lines without steep climbs and is of excellent quality. Distant views, beech forests, the floodplains of Nidder, Schlitz and Fulda as well as the imposing Kuppenrhön promise a special experience peppered with cultural highlights such as the Celtic world on the Glauberg, half-timbered houses in Lauterbach, the castle town of Schlitz or the baroque Fulda. The route is already passable today, even if it is marked differently. Entry is also possible from Frankfurt / Bergen-Enkheim via the "Hohe Straße". The return journey can easily be organized by train.              So, let's go!
