Tour tips with the Vogelsberger VulkanExpress
We take the bus - and our bike rides for free! Every year from May 1st to the last weekend in October, the Vogelsberger VulkanExpress, the bus with bicycle transport, runs on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
From the Rhein-Main area
One day tour (35 km resp. 22 miles):
Getting there: Take the regional train to Glauburg-Stockheim station.
Bus travel: With the Vulkan-Express VB-90 and VB-94 to Hartmannhsain (30 min travel time)
Cycling: By bike from Hartmannshain back to Glauburg-Stockheim (35 km) or further towards Frankfurt.
From the Rhein-Main area:
Two day tour (1 day 45 km resp. 28 miles / 2 day 50 km resp. 31 miles):
Getting there: Take the regional train to Glauburg-Stockheim station.
Bus travel: With the Vulkan-Express VB-90 to Schlitz (2 h travel time).
Cycling: Day 1 from Schlitz to Grebenhain (45 km resp. 28 miles) and overnight there. On day 2 from Grebenhain to Altenstadt (50 km resp. 31 miles) or further towards Frankfurt.
From the Fulda area:
One day tour (35 km resp. 22 miles):
Getting there: To Lauterbach-Nordbahnhof with the regional train.
Bus travel: With the Vulkan-Express VB-90 to Hartmannshain (40 min travel time)
Cycling: By bike from Hartmannshain back to Lauterbach (35 km resp. 22 miles) and on to Fulda (66 km resp. 41 miles in total)
